Initially four teams took  chance on the program: the Las Vegas 51s (as the Reyes de Plata), Charlotte Knights (as the Caballeros), Visalia Rawhide (as the Toros), and Kane County Cougars (no name change).2

Participating teams embraced new names and identities, showcasing their commitment to representing Hispanic culture. Over the years, the initiative has steadily grown. By 2018, it expanded to 33 teams, officially adopting the name Copa de la Diversión. In 2024, 98 teams were part of the initiative, representing over 80% of minor league teams!3 The success of the program is evident, as it attracted a notable increase in attendance at games.
